Stages of grapes ripening, as seen through my lens.

Metal and Shadows

There are beautiful designs even in  metal, rust and shadows.

What Am I Seeing??

Is it an alien?  An insect?  What the heck is this?

Believe it or not, this close-up is of a raindrop clinging to where a leaf connects to a branch.

Beauty is found in the oddest places.

Bee on a Flower

I took a walk around the back yard today and found this, one of nature's creatures. I'm not sure exactly what kind of bee it is...bumble bee?  Carpenter bee?

You can't deny nature's beauty, although "beauty is in the eye of the bee-holder".

Nature At Her Finest

These are a few of the nature photos I've taken recently using just my iPhone 6 camera.

Any idea what you're seeing here?  It's an actual (rather large) drop of water which has settled in the crook of this beautiful elephant ear leaf.

It magically magnifies everything around it, creating an almost surreal world!

Just a tiny hint of the magic appears in this one.

This is one of my wife's favorites...a close up of one of the roses on our daughter's rose bush.  It's called The Pope John Paul II rose.

This year, the rose bush has had two bloomings; the first time, she showed 21 flowers, the second time, just about the same.  We've heard roses are fussy growers, but not this one.

We barely got any blueberries this year, possibly due to an early frost.  But the leaves of the blueberry bushes still produced beauty in their own way.

This is such a perfect blending of colors, like the effects of a silk paintbrush.

Lastly, a little bit of not-so-pretty-nature, but still very magical.  Just think of the scope of this web compared to its creator, the little spider.  Or maybe, not such a little one?

Old One in the Barn

It's been awhile, I know.  Too long.

Look at this old girl, safe in the barn after a lifetime of work.
